1. What is the title of the film?

The Foundation Degree in Animation (from 2010)

2. What can you say about the way in which the title graphics have been created?

The tite graphics were animation which is very suitable because it corresponds with the title and theme of the film.

3. Who is starring in the film?

Ben Murray, Bianca Castro and Tony Nottage

4. Where are the stars names placed?

Along the bottom to the left hand side

5. Why?

By placing the stars names at the bottem they do not obstruct the film, but still grab your attention and are easy to read.

6. Describe the key images in the film.

I think all of the images shown on the computer were key. Especially the teapot, the human, the cube and ‘Fallen Art’

7. Why have they been chosen?

The teapot shows a good example of 3d animation and it also shows that rounded objects that have a more complex shape and texture can be created. The human showed movement which is also quite complex and the cube was used to show the basics of how an animated object is made. ‘Fallen Art’ was chosen because it showed character animation which related to what Tony Nottage was talking about.

8. Talk about what images are used – stars, setting, colours, symbols (mise-en-sine).

The people used in the film were ideal because they were students who had taken the course. Also Tony Nottage seemed very knowledgable on the subject. The setting for the interview was in a what looked like cinema chairs. The setting for the rest of the film was at people computers. Also there were lines and images in the beginning.

9. What do they suggest/signify?

The students seemed very happy where they’re qualification in animation had got them, they seemed to be enjoying it and spoke a lot of the jargon. This showed that they think it’s a good idea to go on this course. Tony Nottage spoke a lot of stuff about animation so the fact that he recommended the course means a lot, as he seems to know what he’s talking about. The seats that Tony Nottage was sat at looked like cinema seats which links in with how animation is used a lot in films. Also because animation is created using computers it was a good idea to show the students at the computers and using them, they could also talk through what was going on and give a better understanding. The lines and images used at the start went well with the theme of animation as animated objects are created on lines and axis’.

11.What are the most important colours in the film?

Blue and white and red.

12. Why do you think these were chosen?

I think the blue and white portayed a technological sense to the film and the red chairs reminded you that you were back watching the interview.

13. What do you think this film is about?

Why it is a good idea to have a foundation degree and why students should take it.

14. Who is the target audience?

Students and they’re parents, mainly those who don’t know a lot about animation yet.

I am happy with how my contents page has turned out. I’ve added a texture to the background and lined everything up properly.
